About Me

My name is Erik Lehman. I’m 23, finishing my Senior year at the University of Cincinnati in the college of Design Art Architecture and Planning. My major is Digital Design. I’ve always been a lush for everything digital; piano, computer, music, games, entertainment. Digital Design turned out to be a perfect stepping stone for me. It introduced me to a number of different design ideas, practices and tools. All of these tools are an incredibly valuable asset to any artist. I do identify myself first and foremost as an artist.

My mind is always racing, thinking about how to make things better… how to organize things differently, but that mind has to be quieted at times, and those times are when I consider myself an artist in action. The greatest challenge I face day to day in producing work is quieting that stampede of thoughts.. but when the inner voice shuts up, fades away, I can simply play. My philosophy on art drives my creative voice. I want to make a living as an artist; hence, I must pursue creating for others as well. I work hard. I practice… a lot. Not just piano, but using a camera, using photoshop, using Ableton etc. I really believe in ‘use it or loose it’ and that one’s abilities aren’t simply ‘gifts’, rather the result of working hard and dedication.
